About Us

I'm Dana, and fashion has always been my passion. Growing up in a small town in southwest VA, there was no fashion to follow, but I tried.

I received my Nursing degree from a small college and never once thought that a clothing boutique would be in my future. I moved from VA after a brief marriage, and started my travel nursing career. It enabled me to experience the country, see the sights, and determine where home should be. I found Seattle thanks to my sister Stacey. She moved here for her job, and I visited her one wonderful summer in 1995. Since then, Seattle has been home. In 1999, when I became bored with healthcare, I decided to go back to school for Fashion Marketing and follow my dreams. From there, the initial plans of my boutique business emerged, and eventually Hip Zephyr was conceived. It took several years to materialize, and since opening in December, 2006, our following has steadily grown.
